Join REFI Global for our upcoming Logistics Webinar Series, a programme of three free back-to-back webinars that will run on Wednesday 4 November 2020. The series will look at the impact of Covid-19 on e-commerce, the potential for a rise in M&A activity and if investors are looking at repurposing obsolete assets.

Each session will feature a panel of expert speakers who will debate the topic, and take questions from the audience. The series is free to attend, and you can sign up for one or more of the webinars.


Session 1, Europe Focus:
Covid-19, Brexit and the European logistics market

The European logistics market is seeing structural changes as a result of a shakeup in the global supply chain and online retailing stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic. These changes could be exacerbated by a final deal on Brexit, which is expected by the end of 2020.

Discussion points include:

  • How is online shopping affecting where retailers need logistics space and why?
  • How will a final Brexit deal affect the way goods are moved around Europe?
  • What’s the impact that increased demand is having on property rental rates and pricing?

Speaker panel:

Otis Spencer, CIO, P3 Logistic Parks
Otis joined P3 as CIO in May 2018. Prior to that, Spencer was President of Peakside Polonia Management, an independent, owner-operator real estate investment manager and entrepreneur group. Between 2012 – 2013, he acted as Managing Director of KSP Real Estate Investment Management, responsible for establishing a real estate investment management platform focused on core CEE markets. Spencer spent 7 years as Managing Director of Heitman International. He earned has Masters in Real Estate from the University of Amsterdam, and his MBA from UC Berkeley.

Jamie Cameron, Vice President, Client Relations, Prologis
Jamie Cameron is a vice president in the client relations team based in London. He is focused on raising capital and servicing European and Middle Eastern investors, coordinating global marketing efforts, investor due diligence and other client requests.
Mr. Cameron joined Prologis in 2016 and is a chartered accountant having started his career at Ernst & Young within the due diligence team. He subsequently moved into equity capital markets spending five years advising on IPOs, secondary market fundraisings and takeovers.
Mr. Cameron graduated with a degree in economics from the University of Bath, England.

Session 2, Global Focus:
The changing supply chain: will global become local?

Discussion points include:

  • How are the largest pan-European managers looking at the storage, movement of goods?
  • What factors are moving retailers and other goods suppliers to look at onshoring manufacturing and other critical services?
  • Is there an opportunity to repurpose obsolete retail or office space for better local distribution?

Is M&A on the horizon for the US logistics market?

Discussion points include:

  • US real estate private equity funds are sitting on unprecedented amounts of dry powder – how much of this will be allocated toward the logistics sector?
  • Will there be M&A activity? Where will it be?
  • How are fund managers sourcing, evaluating potential acquisitions – or widening their scope for potential deals?

Tim Wang, Managing Director and the Head of Investment Research, Clarion Partners
Tim Wang is a Managing Director and the Head of Investment Research at Clarion Partners. He helps manage the firm’s $56 billion of commercial real estate investments, and leads the Research group in supporting the development of investment strategy and advising on portfolio strategy through proprietary analytics and econometric forecasting. He joined the firm in 2006 and is a member of Clarion Partners’ Investment Committee. He is a frequent guest speaker at real estate investment conferences, has published numerous real estate research articles, and has co-authored five real estate strategy books, including Active Private Equity Real Estate Strategy (2009), Guide to U.S. Real Estate Investing (2009), Emerging Market Real Estate Investment: Investing in China, India, and Brazil (2010), Inside the Real Estate Fund Investor (2011), and Real Estate Mathematics (2011). He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and currently serves on the PREA Research Committee (as Chair), the NCREIF Research Committee, and the Real Estate Research Institute Advisory Board. He holds an MBA from New York University and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.

Luke Rottmann, Vice President, client relations, Prologis
Luke Rottmann is vice president, client relations, focused on relationships with institutional investors and consultants in the United States. Mr. Rottmann joined Prologis in 2012 and has over ten years of real estate industry experience. Prior to joining Prologis, he was with JER Partners where he was part of a team managing client relations across six real estate funds focused on the U.S. and Europe. Mr. Rottmann received his Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
